It has come to our attention that when trainers at BASC reach a certain age the pressure of school study clashes with their swimming training schedule. Some have mentioned that full dedication to the training programme is now far beyond what they are able to commit to and we have full empathy with their situation. As we feel it is vital to maintain educational standards it is obvious that the continuing commitment to competitive swimming will have to stop.

They may have been competing for a number of years and attained a good standard or may have been a promising improver, either way a sudden stop in exercise after a rigorous training regime may not be good for their physical well being. At BASC we offer an opportunity to continue swimming training at a much-tuned down level, enabling them to partake in regular exercise in a controlled environment.

So what can the club offer?

The Club will offer flexible training sessions bespoke to your each swimmers school time table.

The Club does not charge a registration or subscription fee for ex-trainers who assist with the development training.

By offering this initiative BASC is making every effort to ensure that 'Ex-trainers' can maintain a degree of fitness after a high training regime. Keeping swimmers in contact with the Club could also have further benefits for individuals especially those looking for ways of keeping fit after leaving school or during further education and helping with development may lead to the opportunity to attend an Assistant Swimming Teachers Course.
